WELCOME TO THE JULY/AUGUST ISSUE


OF OXYGEN MAGAZINE.


THIS ISSUE WE’RE CELEBRATING OUR FITNESS
SISTERS. WHETHER THEY’RE RELATED BY BLOOD,
SWEAT OR TEARS, THERE’S NO DENYING THAT OUR
SISTERS GET US THROUGH IT ALL – THE GOOD, THE
BAD, AND THE UGLY. This issue we meet my ‘sister’,
Amanda. If I need a kick up the butt, Amanda will give it to
me. When I was competing in Las Vegas, I was sick in bed
the week before the competition and you can read on page
36 exactly what Amanda told me.
‘Family’ is what makes me so happy about Oxygen
magazine. When I get to meet you, the reader, at various
events, or over social media, I’m always touched by how
generous, warm-hearted and helpful you all are! Whether
it’s sharing your highs (and lows), recipes, workout ideas or
even time-saving solutions, you guys are always eager to
help out the Oxygen community.
This is what makes Oxygen and its readers so wonderful.
For me, a Fitness Sister is about sticking with each other
through thick and thin (literally!), with honesty, loyalty,
enthusiasm and support for each other’s goals – whether
it’s to lose weight, gain muscle, try something new, or let
something old go. Our Fitness Sisters are there – even
if they think we’re making a huge mistake (although
we do listen to the truth from our Fitness Sisters in
ways nobody else is allowed to be honest with us !).
In May, I had a lovely reminder of the Oxygen family,
when we all decamped from the sunny Gold Coast
to Melbourne for the 2015 FILEX. Along with the Oxygen
ambassadors, Sharna, Justine, Lesley, Penny and Nina.
We were blessed that so many of you came along to sign
up for subscriptions, chat, take photos or just tell us about
yourselves. I certainly felt that I was part of a great group
of women.
This issue, to celebrate all things ‘sisterly’, we’ve included
workouts to do with your favourite f it pal, recipes to cook
for healthy and delicious meals, and asked our cover girls
what their Fitness Sisters mean to them.
Whatever you do today, make sure that your Fitness Sister
knows what she means to you.
