THE VAGINAL

DOES IT GO?

HOW $$Y
IS IT PER
MONTH?

WHAT
HAPPENS IF I
FORGET IT?

WHAT WILL IT
DO TO MY
HORMONES?

QUICKLY
CAN I GET
PREGGERS
AFTER I STOP
USING IT?

STI
PROTECTION?

A liquid
contraceptive
that’s injected
into your arm
or tush.

A 4cm-long
and 2mm-
wide plastic
rod placed
under the
skin of your
inner arm.

A soft, flexible
ring that you
insert into your
vagina yourself
each cycle.

If you’re not a
fan of needles,
it’s probs not
for you. You
get a jab every
three months.

The implant is
inserted using
a big needle
but the area
is all numbed
first. It’ll leave
a teeny scar.

It’s just like
putting in a
tampon – it’s
not hard, but
practice makes
perfect.

Around
$6.65/month
(about $20
per injection).

Up to $9.35
($36.90 for
three years
on top of a
$200-$300
insertion fee ).

Between
$25-28 per
cycle – you
need a new
one every
month.

No biggie.
The injection
lasts for three
months.

You can forget
ALL about it
for three
years. It can
also be taken
out sooner if
you want.

Take it out and
replace every
three weeks.
If you leave it
in for over four
weeks, you’re
not protected.

The injection
contains a
synthetic
form of
progestogen,
stopping
ovulation.

Releases
synthetic
progestogen,
which stops
eggs from
developing in
your ovaries.

Similar to the
pill, the ring
releases low
doses of
oestrogen and
progestogen.

It can take up
to 18 months
for your body
to return to
its pre-birth
control level
of fertility.

You’ll return
to your
pre-existing
fertility
within a
month after
removal.

As soon
as one cycle
after you
remove it.

ZERO. This
prevents the
bubs, not the
bumps.*

Zippidy zip. Nada.
