SunriseThe Haven, Terrigal, Central Coast, NSWTerrigal is one of my all-time favourite places to photograph. I’ll never tire of this particular area because there are so many different angles to play with and generally
the whole area provides a very user-friendly easel when you are blessed with magical light. As the sun began its daily ascent on this morning, the sky got redder and more vibrant with every passing moment. I kept thinking it couldn’t get any better, but the
colour kept on deepening, to the point where I thought no-one would believe it. I was reminded of an old chant I’ve often heard – “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning” – and I thought all those little boats down there should probably stay in the safe shelter provided by The Haven. The old sailors’ adage
proved to be true this day. Not long after I packed up and went home, huge storms hit the east coast.
