Australian House & Garden - April 2016_

(singke) #1

Rambling rose
Climbing ‘Pierre de Ronsard’
roses thrive in this climate.

By hook or chook
The chook house, with rooster
sculptures on the roof and
feed bins in front, has a
thornless ‘Smooth Splendour’
rose climbing over it.

Bean there, done that
Janet bought the Indian bean
tree (Catalpa bignonioides) as
a tiny $2 plant.

Flower and stone
Swathes of dwarf English
lavender spill over the
driveway of local granite,
crushed by Janet’s
resourceful farmer father.
