H&G BRIGHT IDEAS

36 / AUSTRALIAN HOUSE & GARDEN

VEROSOLHAS RELEASED A CLEVER NEW
BLINDFABRIC, CRYSTALSCREEN, WHICH
PROVIDES PROTECTION FROM HEAT AND GLARE
WITHOUT BLOCKING THE VIEW. MADE FROM
ULTRA-THIN GLASS FIBRES AND BACKED WITH
REFLECTIVE ALUMINIUM, IT COMES IN SIX
NEUTRAL TONES. WWW.VEROSOL.COM.AU.

Kudos to UNSW Art & Design graduate Madeleine Dennis,
whose Original Seed fruit bowl (above) won Best Product
Innovation at the 2015 International Green Interior Awards.
Dennis mixed ground avocado seeds with a biodegradable resin
to form the material used to make her fruit bowls. “I wanted to
show that the things we throw away can be repurposed into
something useful and beautiful,” she says. #

Prolific French designer Philippe Starck
has applied Italian fashion house Emilio Pucci’s
signature kaleidoscope prints to create a dazzling
limited-edition chair collection for Kartell. The
vivid Madame Pucci chair is $1190 and available
from Space. http://www.spacefurniture.com.au.

BASIN BEAUTY Fabulous
finishes continue to flow in bathroom
design. Pittella has just released
three new basins, each as gorgeous
as the next. Shown above, from
left: the Venice basin, $1062, made
from coloured glass and has a
beautifully textured handmade
exterior; the Luna basin, $2044,
inspired by natural stone but is
rendered in concrete and glass; and
the dazzling Mosaic basin, $899,
cleverly constructed from a polymer-
based material that comes in a
range of colours from gold-leaf to
platinum. http://www.pittella.com.au.

Cheers for ideas
Addressing the issue
of what to do with
the (rarely recyclable)
receptacle once your
candle has burned
down, A’sh candles are
designed to be used as
cocktail glasses. Even
better, a portion of each
sale goes to World
Vision. $50; http://www.ash
