Is there anything worse than taking a huge hit
to your pride? Nup, probs not. So we hit up one of our
fave Aussie YouTuber for her best advice on how
to bounce back after a seriously sucky situation.

SITCH 1: The f riend diss
When your friend puts you
down in front of other people
to make herself look better.
“Don’t be afraid to stand up
for yourself despite your friend
trying to bring you down!
If, for example, she made
a comment about your weight,
respond with ‘well I actually
LOVE my figure, I feel very
feminine!’ Turn the negative
comments into positive ones.”

SITCH 2: The turn down
When your crush rejects you and
everyone you know finds out.
“Be proud of the fact that you had enough
confidence to express your feelings for them in
the first place! A lot of those people who may be
making fun of you probably wouldn’t. At least
you will never have to think ‘what if?’ ”

SITCH 3: The ghost town
When you post a bangin’ selfie and wait for
all the hearts to pop up – but get minimal likes.
“There’s comfort in knowing that we’ve all been
there! We’ve all had selfies that weren’t received as
well as we thought they would be – it’s not
personal and doesn’t make you any less beautiful.
Your worth does not depend on your appearance
nor the amount of likes you get on a selfie.”

SITCH 4: The trip up
When you do something
super awkward in public,
like fall over in the quad.
“Laugh it off! Whenever I’ve
fallen or tripped over my own
feet in public and I’m on my
own (way more embarrassing)
I just laugh it off – it makes it
sooo much less awkward when
you acknowledge that it was
actually really funny!”

SITCH 6: The zituation
When you get a MAJORLY
obvious pimple the day of
the formal and you
can’t hide it.
“Own it. Whenever I have
a massive spot on my face
I’m all like, ‘Yep, thanks life,
Love your timing!’ and just
laugh at the inconvenience
of it all. Don’t forget that
there are great photo-editing
apps that allow you to make
pimples disappear, so only
the people at your formal
will know it was there.”

SITCH 5: The big debate
When you have a fight with your mum
at the shops and everyone stops to look.
“Smile and wave! Everyone has arguments with
their parents, it’s natural and people should be
minding their own business.”

SITCH 7: The put down
When your teacher
makes you feel silly
when you get an
answer wrong.
“Don’t let it get to you

  • that’s entirely their
    fault for reacting that
    way. You did the right
    thing by having a go,
    they should have
    supported you in that!
    If it happens a lot,
    speak to the teacher,
    your parents or your
    principal about it.”
