WELCOME

WELCOME TO OUR BUMPER, SUPERCHARGED ISSUE. Where to start? Don’t know about
you but I love to read my magazines back-to-front fi rst. I then go to the front and turn each page
slowly absorbing it all, tagging pages, multitasking with my iPad next to me, hunting out all the
recommended online shops and inspirations. We are seeing so many glorious images from print
and digital sources but I personally still love to print out my own online moodboards and photocopy
images from magazines and pin them up on the wall. I suppose it’s like a physical Pinterest,
Polyvore or Instagram. Creating a moodboard in any space can make a boring room look
instantly fun and cool. My offi ce (right) is the perfect example – it has lovely light and overlooks
the park (lucky me) but it’s not exactly large, well, it’s a tiny box to be frank. Once I added my
fl oor-to-ceiling moodboard I didn’t notice how small the space was. Plus, it recharges my brain
every morning and makes me smile. Moodboards have to be the most affordable and easy style
update for any room in your home, from the kitchen through to the living, hallway and more.
Take a look at page 31 of this issue – the homeowner has created an awesome moodboard in
her home offi ce, transforming what could be an ordinary space into something more intriguing.
Talking about tiny spaces, we decided to tackle what is sometimes the smallest nook in the
house: the loo. Most of us tend to ignore this space, even when it’s within the bathroom, and
forget to decorate or fi nish important detailing. We gave stylist Jackie Brown the challenge
and I think she has created magic. Turn to our bonus kitchen and bathroom special (starting
page 151) and fi nd the lovely loo feature in among some seriously beautiful kitchen and bathroom
ideas and all the shopping fi nds you’ll ever need for these spaces.
Hey, it’s Easter time and I refuse to eat ANY chocolate! Well, that was until the foodie team
brought some delicious chocolate-dripping doughnuts into the offi ce for a taste test, thanks
guys. See if you can resist, page 137. Happy days.
