SHA DOW SATUR ATION
AND HUE
Now let’s head to the Shadows section
of the Split Toning adjustments. Set the
Saturation slider to 48, so we can see the
change when we move the Hue slider.
Now move the Hue slider right and left to
see how the colour of the shadow tone
changes. We’ve used a Hue setting of
200, a slightly greener version of the blue
we used for the highlights.

THE RIGHT BALANCE
To complete the split toning effect, the Balance slider in the middle lets
you control whether the settings you chose for the Highlights or the
Shadows are more dominant. Move the slider up to its maximum of +100
and the image will apply your Highlight colour to the entire image. Move
it to -100 will it will apply your Shadow colour to the entire image. In this
project I’ve selected a setting of +20 to apply slightly more of the bluer
highlight colours to the shadows in the image.

FINISHING TOUCHES
To finish, scroll up to the Basic
adjustments (near the top of the
panel) and tweak these settings
to give the image a bit more
punch. We used the following
settings: Exposure +0.6, Contrast
+28, Highlights - 8 7, Whites
-44, Clarity +28, Vibrance +40,
Saturation +9. Use the crop
tool to remove the railing at the
bottom of the image and zoom in
on the pool.
Tip: To export your image, right-
