Studio Rankings, Commission has shot
up 14 places into the top five. Failing his
graphic design degree never deterred co-
founder Christopher Moorby, who honed
his skills over nine years at MadeThought
before co-founding Commission. Recent
highlights including launching Rihanna’s
fashion brand FENTY...
How does it feel to be rated so highly by
your peers?
We feel proud that people see and like our
work. Hopefully, it means a wider audience is
starting to see it too.
What do you think makes Commission
stand out?
We have a really tight team, with chemistry.
There are eight of us, and each person brings
a different skill set and point of view to the
table. The mix of personalities needs to be
spot on. No drama.
What’s the biggest upcoming hurdle for
the studio?
It’s not so much a hurdle, but we have fewer
and fewer UK clients now. Most of our clients
are overseas, and the uncertainty of Brexit
hasn’t affected our business yet – thankfully.
Hopefully, we offer something unique enough
that people can’t find it anywhere else. If
anything, because the Pound is so weak, we’re
now better priced to our clients.
What’s particularly exciting for Commission
in 2020?
Working in new sectors for new people –
specifically across music, event, television
and film. We’re excited to ply our skills to
these industries.
