SCENE

NOVA’S SMALLZY (AKA THE MASTER BEHIND MUSICAL TRENDS) HAS THE
INSIDE WORD ON WHO YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO THIS YEAR.

LITTLE SEA
Let me tell you about Little Sea... they are
best friends with 5SOS! Need I say more?
I can also tell you they were childhood
friends with Calum, Luke, Ashton and
Michael and grew up just around the
corner from them. The guys were signed
to a major record label last year and my
sources tell me that they are busy writing
and recording new music. Hopefully we
will hear their first single pretty soon.

MASKETTA FALL
You must have heard of these guys! Their
first single “Summertime Girls” was all
over the radio (head to doll y.com.au to
see DOLLY’s entertainment writer, Nat,
make pizzas with them). These guys hail
from Melbourne and have been making
music for years on YouTube. They’ve got
a different sound from their early days
and I think that will do well for them.
They just need to have a follow-up single.

JAMES BAY/HOZIER
These two dudes deserve a mention.
James Bay is a guy from the UK who
went on tour with Hozier last year and
has a top 10 hit with “Hold Back The
River”. Hozier has smashed it around
the world with “Take Me To Church”.
Ed Sheeran is a fan of his and told me
about this guy when he was here in Oz
last year! I’m excited for them to take
over the radio with their soulful voices.

IT'S A SMALLZ WORLD

MCBUSTED
McBusted
OUT: Now
French fries and tomato
sauce, ice cream and
topping, chocolate and
milk. Things are better in
pairs. Get around the
bands McFly and Busted.
Together. I’m loving this.

RIXTON
Let The Road
OUT: February 27
The UK boys broke on to
the scene last year and
their new album is set to
confirm they aren’t just
one-hit wonders. I’m sure
they will be around for
a long time to come.

FIFTH HARMONY
Reflection
OUT: Now
Harmonisers everywhere
have been waiting for
this. Think Little Mix but
with an American edge.
It’s their debut album
and a must for anyone
who loves pop music.

Can you believe how quick this year has already gone? I think it may be a good
time to give you my predictions of who I think will be the biggest music acts in
2015 so you can always be one step ahead of your friends in lunchtime chats.
