Nissan has confirmed that
sales of the GU Patrol will
cease this year, bringing an
end to a long and proud history.
ISSAN has been producing live-axle, four-
wheel drive Patrol wagons and cab-chassis
variants for an astonishing 65 years, but
this is set to stop with the demise of the
GU Patrol (Y61) by the end of the year.
In fact, with only the petrol-powered Y62
Patrol remaining, you’ll no longer be able
to buy a diesel-fuelled heavy-duty Nissan
off-roader at all.
While the Patrol nameplate will live on in the Y62
model, this petrol-only, independent-suspension wagon
will leave many tourers looking towards other marques
for their next outback adventure machine.
