the KITCHEN/DINING

Beautiful functional The mirrored
splashback in the kitchen area – where
clean lines rule – helps to reflect light back
into the space. The choice of marble
countertop for the island bench brings a
traditional material into a modern-day living
context. The Feelgood Designs “C607” bar
stools are from Stylecraft. The sunroom,
which lies beyond the kitchen, was
converted into a dining space, fitted out
with a Sean Dix “Oslo” table and Eames
“DCM” chairs, which were a wedding gift.

Two zones “We worked with the two styles of the home to
create our own aesthetic,” Alex says. “Upstairs focusing on the
minimalist, monochrome, with touches of greenery, colour and
texture. Downstairs looking at a relaxed, comfortable, softer,
inviting style; it’s where we often hang in the late evenings.”
Feels like home “Moving the home office out a couple of
years ago made the house feel more like a home – especially
with the addition of a child,” Alex says.
