WANT A RUG THAT WILL SERIOUSLY UP THE STYLE CRED OF YOUR HOME? Look no further than
Danskina! The rug studio was founded in the small town of Bladel in the Netherlands in 1973 by Piet
and Ina van Eijken. Originally, the couple wanted to focus on Danish design, so Piet combined the word
Dansk with Ina, his wife’s name (geddit?). These days, it’s owned by textile giant Kvadrat Maharam, with
the rugs made in the Netherlands, Scotland, Germany, Nepal and India. 2. Eleven out of the 19 rugs in
the collection are designed by guest designers, so you’re always guaranteed something different. They’re
hand-knotted, woven, fusion-bonded, tufted or felted, mainly from wool, but the one we love most is the
Cork & Felt design (shown here). Plus, you can have them custom made to any length in a variety of
shapes. 3. It can take eight to 10 weeks to make just one rug (add another week for delivery to Australia).
Check out the whole collection at Danskina.com and buy them locally through Hubfurniture.com.au R
