Knot it

  1. Tie cord or rope into macramé planter hangers! One simple
technique makes any size. Paint terracotta pots with matt acrylic paints
then suspend them in the hangers. Place plastic-potted plants with saucers
into the pots then water sparingly, as needed. Yes, macramé is back!
    Instructions on page 196

Screw it

  1. Showcase your macramé on a DIY plant stand. Stain four 1.8m
lengths and one 1.2m length of 64 x 19mm dressed pine and let dry.
Pair 1.8m lengths and mark 450mm from an end. Predrill with a long
drill bit. Use a 10g x 100mm wood screw each side, putting screw
through a screw cap washer first and inserting a metal washer between
legs. Place the 1.2m cross-piece between pairs, splaying legs. Mark
and saw feet to level off. Predrill and screw twice through each leg into
cross-piece with 35mm screws, again putting screws through screw
cap washers. Press on screw caps. Use S hooks to hang planters.
