Earp,whohas1.2millionfollowerson
Instagram, has spoken out against body
shamingandhassaidsheblocksanyonewho
does so on her account. But she’s also quick to
speak out against the body shaming we give
ourselves:“Seeingthewaythatsomeofmy
friends,andevenmyselfatsomestages,have
thought about ourselves is worse. We’re our
own worst enemies. So of course it hurts
and it’s terrible when other people shame
us,butIthinktheworstiswhenwebelieve
it ourselves.” How does she suggest we get
toaplaceofbetterself-love?“Startlittle
–lookatyourselfinthemirrorandtryto
findonethingthatyouactuallylikeabout
yourself rather than 20 things that you
hate.That’sastepintherightdirection.”
Out of all the women we shot naked, Earp was
definitelytheleastnervousaboutgettingher
kit off. “I think that the human body is
art and it’s beautiful. I think it should be
celebrated – not necessarily by full frontals,
butaslongasit’sclassy.Italsohelpswhen
youknowthatyou’vegotareallytalented,
professional team around you that make
you feel confident and supported.”
Health, to Earp, is all about “nourishing
notpunishing.Givingyourselfcolourful,
healthy foods because you want to treat
yourbodyright,andexercisingnotbecause
you hate your body but because you love
it and it makes you feel good.”
