Leadership Legend Award
She was our Olympic flag bearer and represented Australia
in the Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony. But Meares’ role went
much further than that – she was an outstanding leader both
on and off the field, delivering a welcome speech to the team
t h a t w a s s o i n s p i r i n g i t l e f t a t h l e t e s i n t e a r s , a n d d i s p l a y i n g
leadership for the entire team. Even though she’s recently
retired, Meares’ performance will leave a lasting legacy.
