Sugar-
Cookie
dough

1 ½ sticks unsalted
butter, softened
¾ c. sugar
1 large egg
1 t. vanilla extract
2¼ c. all-purpose flour
¼ t. salt
1.Cream butter and
sugar. Mix in egg and
vanilla until blended.
2.Gradually add flour
and salt. Add drops of
water if dough is too
dry.
3.Form dough into a
disc, wrap in plastic
wrap, and refrigerate for
2 to 3 hours.
4.Preheat oven to 350
degrees celcius. Roll
dough on lightly floured
surface, and cut with a
cookie cutter.
5.Bake for 8 to 12
minutes, or until lightly
brown around the
edges.

Royal Icing
2 c. confectioners’
sugar
1 large egg white
½ t. water
Mix all ingredients in
a bowl. Once smooth,
divide into cups and
use food dye to make
different colors.
