An increasing number of people are being
diagnosed with diabetes, especially Type 2.
Really worrying is the age at which this type
of diabetes, once known as “mature−onset”,
is being diagnosed: more young people,
even children, are being identified as having
symptoms of the condition. Type 2 diabetes
is sometimes known as a “lifestyle” disease,
as it can be triggered by poor dietary habits,
inactivity and smoking. This is especially the
case if there is a family history of the disease. It’s
important to consult your doctor and be tested.

Regular exercise and giving up smoking are
ways of staving off the disease. Eating well is
also vital – and with these delicious recipes,
we show you how easy it is to make fabulous,
flavoursome meals that are also good for you.
