14 | AUSTRALIAN HOUSE & GARDEN

YOUR H&G

Having lived on a rural property for many decades
with only tank water and off-grid solar power, it was
a great joy to move close to town where we now have
access to electricity and town water. I used to despair
at my summer garden when the tanks ran dry and all
my plants withered and browned... But now that a
lovely garden is well within my reach, I have your
line-up of summer-flowering plants (the Bright stuff,
December) on the list for my next trip to the nursery.
I know I can always rely on H&G for great advice.
How good is life!
Carol Andrews, Coonabarabran, NSW

Old is new again
After seeing all the lovely vignettes in
the December issue, I pulled some of my
treasures out of the cupboard to create
small displays and moved some items
in the living room around; these small
changes have really freshened the place
up. thank you for inspiring me to restyle
what I already have. And giving me more
space in the kitchen cupboard!
Annalisa Kite, Arundel, Queensland

One for all ages
My mum and I always enjoy looking
out for the latest issue of Australian
House & Garden at the supermarket.
My mum introduced me to H&G so
I read an issue and loved it and I have
read every issue since. I love reading
H&G because I like getting inspiration
for my bedroom and my Minecraft

houses, and I now want to be an interior
designer after seeing all the beautiful
homes in your magazine. My favourite
has to be the October issue with the
top 50 rooms because I love seeing
the really stunning houses. thanks
H&G, you truly are the best magazine
and you always inspire me.
Annabel Dekker (age 11), Auckland, NZ

Fuelling the fire
reading light My Fire (November)
made me envious. I have always
had a fascination with fire stations and
my ultimate dream would be to buy,
renovate and live in one. so I thoroughly
enjoyed reading and seeing how the
Daltons transformed the civic building
into a beautiful family home. A job
well done!
Michael Bowden, Rosebud, Victoria
