“I am drawn to mid-century European furniture and designer
Hans Wegner is a personal favourite. I love my Papa Bear
chair, which envelops me when I sit down. I also have a pair of
Circle Chairs by Hans Wegner (pictured) that adds a pleasing
decorative layer to the sitting area. Their open structure
is great because they don’t obstruct the magnificent views
of the mountains.” >

INTO THE WOODS
“I wanted the house to
be understated and
restrained, but also cosy,
so we kept the lines clean
and used a warm palette.
We added recycled-cypress
cladding to the ceilings for
textural interest and to make
the house feel warmer and
more inviting. I wanted to
bring lots of timber into the
interior, so we also chose
wire-brushed white oak for
the doors of the kitchen
cabinets and the vanity unit
in the main bathroom.”

VIEW FINDER
“The house had just been
built by a local architect and
was in excellent condition
when we found it. We
liked the flow of spaces and
the layout, especially the
open-plan ground floor,
which is all focused on the
view. I had help from
architect and designer Daniel
Romualdez, a good friend.
He has great taste and
sensibility. I really admire the
way he mixes new and
vintage pieces.”
