The family’s engagement with their community
and the environment is deep and has had a great
impact on the design of this thoughtful home.
There are multiple gardens all around the house,
planted to attract wildlife, and the rear gate opens
to a pocket park, which is maintained by the Bails
and their neighbours. They often slip out the gate
to grab a lemon for mixed drinks or to catch up
with friends for a picnic.
LIVING/DINING this page and opposite bottom Anika and
Yuki relax in the treehouse-like living room. There is a barbecue
and potted herb garden on the deck, handy to the kitchen.
