MUSHROOMS. both meaty and medicinal,
they offer a fantastic opportunity to add a
wholesome texture and umami to your favorite
plant-based dishes. Press them, sauté them,
marinate them and roast them... the possibilities
are endless. This fungus among us can be
added to soups, marinated and pressed to
make mushroom steaks, chopped and added
to sandwiches and even steeped to make tea.

Mushrooms as meat work because they are
a whole food, plant-based choice that can be
manipulated any way you like to recreate your
favorite meat- or seafood-based dishes for
yourself and others. Depending on the type of
mushrooms you are looking for, some of these
fungi may be plentiful or challenging to find. If
you are lucky enough to know a knowledgeable
mushroom forager and live in the right spot,
you’ll likely strike gold. but if you don’t have
that resource, you may need to do a little research
on how to find mushrooms at a grocer or
farmers market near where you live. And, if all
else fails, online grocers offer lots of options for
the fungi-curious. There are even mycological
societies or clubs to join to learn more about the
magical world of mushrooms that may possibly
be nearby and accessible to you. Our mission is
to create the demand of said shroomz and drive
the suppliers with your help.

Read on to find out more about the different
types of mushrooms available, as well as how
to find, prepare and use them!
