ingRedients
1 cup frozen cherries
1½ cups almond or coconut milk
1 tbsp maple syrup
3 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp vegan-friendly chocolate
protein powder
¹/³ cup silken tofu
½ ripe avocado, pitted and
peeled
A handful of spinach
¼ tsp vanilla paste
Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
Fresh cherries and homemade
raw chocolate and whipped
coconut cream to top
(optional)
method
Place each of the ingredients
into a blender and blitz smooth,
adjusting the sweetness or
cacao flavoring to taste. Pour
into a glass and enjoy.
Shake It Up
Don’t be afraid to toss those
classic savory ingredients into
sweet dishes (avocados or beets
into homemade brownies, or
zucchini, squash or parsnips into
cakes), and sweet ingredients into
savory meals! Apples, for example,
can taste incredible in curries, and
my friend Lorna has introduced
me to using banana peel in
recipes, too!
Something New
I have recently discovered oat
cream, which is a fantastic vegan-
friendly ingredient, if you don’t
want a coconutty flavor! I love it
in carbonara or a rich chocolate
ganache.
