Floor/standing models
These are always a great asset in a bedroom, or
at the end of a hallway that has ornate corniced

Ornate frames
Mirrors with intricate frames can make a fabulous wall gallery display (right).
A well-considered layout is important, as is the mix of shapes and shine levels.
Introducing brushed metal finishes can look more sophisticated than all-out bling.

7 Oly Fionawall mirrorwith brass frame (99cm diameter), $2595, Coco Republic. 8 Gallery
Home Specterwall mirrorwith metal frame (93x119cm), $429, Zanui. 9 Gallery Home
Luciawall mirrorwith metal frame in Black/Copper (71cm diameter), $275, Zanui.

2 If you’re renovating, ask your
carpenter to construct a large-scale
hero mirror frame, fitted with 6–8mm
glass, and to install it on a wall that
can bear the weight. Mirrors can be
very heavy, so it pays to have large
designs professionally installed.
