nights long, the new B&B – bed and beverage – will
suit perfectly. In 2015 the Experimental Cocktail Club
delivered the idea with aplomb at The Grand Pigalle
in Paris’s 9th, with check-in at the bar, in-room
cocktails and Cognac-scented bath products. Similar
principles apply at the group’s first UK B&B. Set to
open in Covent Garden this month, Henrietta Hotel
has 18 rooms above a cocktail bar and a restaurant

establishment. Heron & Grey, the
only new one-star restaurant
in Ireland last year, sits in
a nondescript street market
in a seaside suburb of Dublin.
When it scored its first star, it was
so tiny diners had to use the toilets
around the corner. The 24-seat
dégustation-only affair is co-owned
by Dubliner Andrew Heron but chef
and co-owner Damien Grey hails
from Canberra and trained in the
Sydney suburb of Glebe.
