speculation the Argentine striker , 28, might find himself surplus to
requirements this summer. Once endorsements are added to his
wage, he earns at least £14m a year. 2016: £33m, 18=

The Harry Potter star did not initially invest his earnings well,
buying what he described as a series of “ridiculous things”

acting, landing roles in Sick Note and Snatch, a TV series spun off

NEW DIRECTION WITH
CHERYL : LIAM PAYNE
Entry 15=, £40m
Watson continues to captivate the nation
both on and off screen. The 26-year-old
has been United Nations women’s
goodwill ambassador since 2014, but her
commitment to feminist campaigning
was called into question in February when
she posed for a revealing photograph in
an interview for Vanity Fair magazine.
Her activism has brought her as much
attention as her acting and two years ago
she made it onto Time magazine’s list of
the world’s 100 most influential people.
She is not doing too badly from the
day job, either. Watson is expected to earn
handsomely from her portrayal of Belle
in this year’s Disney live-action film of
Beauty and the Beast. Although she
reportedly accepted a £1.6m appearance
fee, she also took a cut of the production’s
takings, which have far exceeded
expectations. In its opening weekend it
took £18.4m, making it the fifth
highest-grossing three-day opening for
a movie.
Watson found fame and fortune as the
studious Hermione Granger in the eight
Harry Potter films, based on the books
by JK Rowling (qv), which made $7.7bn
at the box office. She has also secured a
portfolio of modelling deals, including
make-up specialist Lancôme as well as
the fashion labels Burberry and Chanel.
Not an ostentatious spender, she rises to
£39m this year. 2016: £35m, 16
