SMALL CREEK, IPSWICH

TO BE RENATURALIZED

Small Creek, in the City of Ipswich, Queensland will be
reinstated as a natural waterway in a project funded through
the City of Ipswich’s Stormwater Quality Offsets Program.
It is currently a 1.6 kilometre-long concrete drain. A team
consisting of Landscapology and Bligh Tanner is leading the
project, which will improve the quality of water flowing into
Deebing Creek and the Bremer River downstream, allow
for better path and bikeway connections, provide habitat for
birds and other wildlife, and allow opportunities to interact
with nature in a parkland setting. A concept design has
been released and detailed design will continue during the
first half of 2017. Photo: Courtesy of City of Ipswich
