While Hong Kong is famed for its
Cantonese cuisine, there are plenty of

dining tradition by ofering intricately
crafted and steamed treats for sharing
— including black garlic siu mai pork
dumplings and Hokkaido king crab
and sea urchin spring rolls. Vegetarians
can order the likes of wild mushroom
dumplings with beetroot and steamed
matsutake mushroom bao. Finish with
tofu panna cotta or oolong tea ice-cream.

Occupying a heritage building in downtown
Central, and once home to the Hong Kong
Police Married Quarters, PMQ is a creative arts
centre housing a selection of studios and stores by more than
100 independent designers. Search the eight-storey building
complex for Goods of Desire (G.O.D.), specialising in ofbeat Hong
Kong-inspired home furnishings and gifts; Flying Zacchinis for
crafted leather accessories; and KMC Design for jade jewellery.
A teahouse, bakery and cafe round out the cool space.
Jewellery inspired by imperial Chinese craftsmanship
attracts celebrities, socialites and even royalty at Yewn, located
in high-end shopping centre The Landmark on Queen’s Road,
Central. Founder Dickson Yewn studied in Paris and at the
New York Fashion Institute of Technology before launching
his first jewellery collection at the turn of the millennium.
