hen I think back to my
childhood days of
driving between
Brisbane and Sydney to see family,
I can’t help but appreciate the luxury
and speed of modern travel.
The same trip that takes at least
a day by car, can now be covered by
two hours of flight. The thing I enjoy
most about flying is that for a short
while the outside world is excluded.
Our day-to-day lives are now set
to hyperspeed, so I see this respite as
a small gift. You can use this time
productively with your in-flight
entertainment to catch up on some
news, meditate, read (like you’re
doing now) or learn something new.
This month, I’m excited to share
interviews and a new life-coaching
course from the Balance by Deborah
Hutton website. Listen to the
strong-minded and inspiring Margie
Warrell delve into her new book

Make Your Mark — a road map for
being brave and discovering your
potential. Or take part in the
emotionally intelligent Dr Dain
Heer’s short course, which will
peel back the layers in your life
until you rediscover your true self.
For the music fans, we’ve added
an interview with Marcia Hines, who
recounts travelling to Sydney as
a teenager to star in the Australian
production of Hair and divulges what
inspires her to make music.
For those of you thinking, ‘I have
kids travelling with me. There is no
gift of time’, I have something for
you, too. Check out the meditation
podcasts for kids, developed by our
balance coach, Katrina Cavanough.
It might help you all find balance.
