After a spontaneous change
of plans, we’ve arrived reser-
vationless at a swanky uptown
Manhattan restaurant. The
place is packed, and Kelly
is convinced that we won’t get
a table. As the second-oldest
of five kids, she’s used to not
receiving any VIP treatment—
and her siblings like to jokingly
keep her in her place. “They’re
like, ‘Come on, Kelly, D-list
celebrity, get a reservation—oh
wait, she can’t!’”
We decide to belly up to the
bar, as if it’s our weekly tra-
dition to share truff le ravioli
and a $30 cheeseburger. Kelly
pauses to survey the scene.
“Look at that woman,” she says,
zeroing in on what I can only
describe as a real-life Bond girl,

“ Wanna go

halfsies on

the burger?”

clad in fur and stilettos. “She
looks awesome—that coat!
There is always something sexy
about this place. I think we
made the right choice.”
The 27-year-old is refer-
ring to the fact that we were
supposed to head to a driving
range. Kelly is a lifelong golfer
with skills so on point, she
landed an athletic scholarship
to Georgetown University. But
tonight, she’s fresh off a six-hour
f light from Los Angeles and
in need of sustenance—namely,
that cheeseburger.
She’s still in her travel
uniform—a chunky gray
cardigan, Under Armour leg-
gings, and combat boots, her
blonde waves tucked under a
black newsboy cap. Despite
being raised in tony Greenwich,
Connecticut, she gives off a
strong West Coast sensibility.
“Californians are my people,”
she admits. “Everyone is
easygoing and has five minutes
to talk, and I love to banter.
In New York, you just want to
be like, ‘Everyone, please just
chill out!’ I’m all about that
namaste life.” Her tone suggests
she’s as likely to join you for
yoga and a green juice as she is a
joint (medicinal, of course) or a
drive to nowhere.
“I grew up super outdoorsy,
hugging trees in the woods. Not
to sound cliché, but I honestly
had the best childhood you can
have,” she says. “I’m so close to
my family—my siblings are my
best friends. My sister lives with
me now in L.A. She’s my soul
mate.” The familial Rohrbach
bond is fodder for Kelly’s own
Kardashian-Jenner–style enter-
prising pipe dreams.
“We’re trying to find our ver-
sion of the lip gloss that made
Kylie a gazillion dollars. My sis-
ters and I are like, how about a

asks actress

Kelly Rohrbach,

adding: “I’ll

split just about

anything other

than soup because

that would be

weird since we

just met...

or would it?”
