“When I was a teenager I wrote

a song for an ex-girlfriend and

sang it in front of my whole

school. I thought I’d get a lot of

flack, but people came up to me

and said, ‘Dude, respect.’ And it

worked – we got back together.”

“I’ve been writing a journal for

eight years. There are maps of

places I’ve been, as well as

photographs of my daughter

[Birdie, one]. I’ve written it so

she can read it when she’s older.
