HOW TO

WEAR...

We are pulling this staple
classic back out of the closet
because it is da bomb

Th e kh a k i bomber

TOUGHEN UP A
FRILLY FROCK
Don’t be afraid to add
this to a feminine look.
For Spring ’16, 3.1 Phillip
Lim sent what he called
‘youthful elegance’ down
the runway, teaming the
khaki bomber with a
bandeau top, culottes
and sexy heeled boots.
So try layering this over
some feminine pieces,
such as Kim’s sexy
plunging bodysuit and
gorgeous heels.

LAYER IT CHIC
When braving the cold,
go for an oversized cut
and layer it cleverly. A
bodysuit is a great way
to layer without any
tucking-in trickiness.

MARTINI TIME
It’s important to nail the
perfect shade of khaki.
Our key rule: look for a
martini olive bomber and
you have a winner.
Martini, anyone?

THE FINER
DETAILS
A bomber is an easy
piece to wear but it is
still the statement piece
of your look. So look for
subtle details. Gucci’s
embroidered satin
bombers were bold on
the runways, and this is
a much more relaxed
version. So look for
things like oversized
sleeves, quilting or a
statement lapel or collar.

CASUAL HAIR
The bomber is a soft
jacket with no angular
structure, so match it
with an easy, relaxed
look like a topknot.

GO TONAL
Don’t try and overload
the look with too many
other colours – it can
become overwhelming.
Stick to a colour like
black, tan, navy or white
and wear that head-to-
toe with the bomber.
