Cosmopolitan Australia – June 2017

(やまだぃちぅ) #1
‘WE’VE GOT good news for
you...’ read an email from
Cosmopolitan. I’d just reached
the top of Machu Picchu (after
a four-day hike) and finally
got a bar of reception. I hadn’t
showered in days, my feet
were covered in blisters and
my body felt like it had been
hit by a bus. But it was one
of the greatest moments of
my life to date. That ‘good
news’ was being offered the
position of features director
for the magazine. I squealed
and then cried hysterically.
Working for Cosmo is my
dream job and that sentiment
is shared by every person in
this office. We’re not a big

team, but we’re a passionate
one (read on for more stories
about working at Cosmo).
Everything we do is driven
by you, for you. Cosmo has long
been at the forefront of change
and that’s something we feel
particularly strongly about

  • creating waves and making
    some goddamn noise. The best
    thing about working here?
    It’s the overwhelming feeling
that anything is possible if we
    are passionate about it.
    We hope you enjoy the
issue – we put our heart and
    soul into it.

SO

COSMO!

‘The best thing about working at
Cosmo is the spirit of family that
we all have. We work bloody hard,
but doing it with people that you
love makes it so much better.’

  • DENIS TODOROVIC, STYLE EDITOR

‘It was serendipity: I was Kate Beckinsale, about
to go in a different direction, and Cosmo was
John Cusack. OK it wasn’t exactly like that,
but if it weren’t for a cancelled meeting in that
other direction, I wouldn’t be here.’

  • MEL EVANS, NEWS & ENTERTAINMENT EDITOR

‘After all the hard
work of getting
everything together
and the stress
of deadlines and
getting it perfect,
I love opening the
mag, turning to my
pages, getting that
warm feeling inside
and having a proud
moment.’ – CASSIE
LONGWORTH, MARKET
EDITOR

‘When I found out I
got the job at Cosmo
I called my sister and
literally said, “Don’t
book our flights to go
home – I got the job!”
and teared up from
joy and excitement.’

  • ANA ZUPANOSKA,
    FASHION OFFICE
    COORDINATOR

‘When I got the call, I was shooting
and promptly jumped around the
studio – much to the confusion of
the team who put it down to
caffeine consumption.’ – EMMA
READ, ACTING FASHION DIRECTOR
