Jiu Jitsu Style - Issue 38 2017

(backadmin) #1
It’s been a busy time for me over the past
few months. I’ve been training hard, as al-
ways; working on my boxing, staying ready
for another MMA fight, while also training
in the gi and preparing for the IBJJF Pro
League this August.

I love developing new skills, with my boxing
and also my love of chess keeping me busy
away from the academy, but I always love it
when I get to put on my gi and train jiu jitsu. I
have a great network of people around me in
London, so I’ve enjoyed keeping my training
up and keeping fit for my next goals.

Another goal that I am very proud to have
finally accomplished is launching my instruc-
tional website, Roger Gracie TV, which is now
live. Historically, I haven’t shown too much

of my technique to the community, with the
idea that one day I’d have my own website to
showcase all my knowledge. It’s been a very
long project, but we have finally got there and
I hope it will be something that people all over
the world can enjoy. We are going to update
the content regularly, so it’s an ongoing project
for me, and one that I find very fulfilling.

As always, we’ve worked hard to line-up some
great content for this issue of the magazine,
starting with our cover star, Kenny Florian.
Kenny has had an amazing career in the UFC,
and has set a very good example as a mar-
tial artist. His interview is full of interesting
perspective – and lots of great stories – so do
check this out.

We also have a feature interview with Ma-
hamed Aly, who is one of the younger black
belts really making a name for himself at the
moment. Aly is a very exciting fighter to watch;
explosive and dynamic, so be sure to watch his
career progress over the coming years.

We have a range of technique for you, from
Australian Kit Dale to British Judo Olympic
medalist, Sally Conway. I am a big fan of
judo, so it’s always great to see techniques
from elite judoka.

For people interested in learning about the
Ketogenic diet, we have a very detailed arti-
cle for you. It’s a really interesting diet, which
has gained lots of publicity recently, and this
piece will help you gain all the facts, as well as
reference how it can work for a jiu jitsu fighter.

Enjoy the latest issue of the magazine guys
and – until next time – keep training and en-
joying jiu jitsu.
