Science is catching up with fiction and bringing

us a reality that is likely to change the face of skin

care. In the US, scientists at MIT have created a

new, silicone-based polymer material that can be

applied to your skin to potentially block UV rays,

boost hydration and smooth wrinkles for up to

24 hours. It’s still in the trial phase but researchers

say that the ‘second skin’ ( basically a wearable

crosslinked polymer layer that mimics the

properties of normal, youthful skin) may

become second nature in skin care.
