Ducks, split your time between Byron Bay and Sydney... Ye s ,
we base ourselves in Byron and go back to Sydney around once
a month for mine and Darren’s various commitments.
Describe your personal style. I’m a bit of a chameleon,
depending on where I am. I like pieces that are relaxed,
classic, beachy and a little boho so my Byron Bay wardrobe
is filled with a lot of white and neutrals, in cotton, linen and
natural fibres. I also like to support local labels like Spell,
St Agni and the Bare Road, and I live in First Born knits.
When I’m in the city in work mode, I enjoy frocking up.
Any other favourite brands? Zimmermann and Magali
Pascal for dresses and tops that can take me from day to
evening. Bassike and Acne for T-shirts. Scanlan Theodore,
Camilla and Marc, and Dion Lee for classic, fashion-forward
pieces. I also love my Current/Elliott boyfriend jeans.
How has your style changed over the years? It has definitely
become a lot more relaxed since becoming a mum to Archie;
I used to live in heels but now they are a novelty for special
events. I wear a lot of linen jumpsuits from Yoli and Otis,
boyfriend jeans and Bassike T-shirts. Surprisingly, it hasn’t
stopped me wearing white! I have a lot of white dresses!
How do your work and weekend uniforms differ? The
weather and feel of my Sydney work-life and Byron life are
quite different... I keep the travel uniform simple with jeans,
a T-shirt, plain blazer or long cardigan and brogues. Once I’m
in the city, I dress up for work, but when I’m in Byron I’m back
to bare feet, Spell dresses and Lack of Colour straw hats.
What’s on your wish list going into winter? First Born
knitwear, Hunter boots, grey suede over-the-knee boots,
a fedora hat, cashmere wrap and an over-sized leather bag.
Do you have a go-to fragrance? I stopped wearing perfume
when I fell pregnant because my nose was so sensitive. Now
I gravitate more towards natural scents and oils such as rose.
What would we find in your beauty case? Coconut oil is such
a great staple for nourishing my hair, skin and lips, especially
in winter. I like to fill in my brows with my Eye of Horus brow
pen and use a MAC concealer. For work, my foundation is
Armani Luminous Silk, and NARS for bronzer and blush.
Do you carry a particular handbag? My straw bag, which
I got from Flowers at The Farm. I get so many comments on it!
It doubles as a baby and farmer’s market bag.
What’s the best style advice you’ve received? Buy once,
buy well. I much prefer to spend a little more on something
that’s going to go the distance. A lot of fast fashion worries
me because of the ethics of how it’s been made. >
