Have read your GST cover story. It’s excellent. You have covered the impact on
almost all the sectors. You could have also focused on the additional costs all
sectors have to bear on installation of new softwares and added accounting costs
because of GST. Also why would logistics costs come down due to GST?

  • Pankaj Jaggi

Editor Responds: Dear Mr. Pankaj, thank you for your feedback.

As for your query, we think that the additional cost required for installation of new
software and added accounting costs will be negligible for the larger companies we
focused on in the article. The logistic costs will reduce as there will be rationalisation
in the warehousing system for corporates in India and back-of-the-envelope
calculations suggest the logistics cost will come down by 20 per cent. To understand
the GST implications deeper, stay tuned to our products and keep writing to us to
know more about the equity markets.

Excellent cover story!
