S
cheduled to slither into col-
lectors hands this Septem-
ber, Attic Cards presents
Reptiles, an 18-card set featuring
a range of reptiles, starting with
the King Cobra #1 card. These
cards are distinct from other
mass-produced dinosaur sets by
their low number of
base cards and the
concept behind the
cards.
All of the cards,
including base,
color parallels
and Pals cards are
printed on canvas/
linen stock. Jeremy
Faulkenburg feels
that since all the
images are original
art, they just look better on can-
vas/linen stock. “We feel every
card we put out is worthy of being
in someone’s collection.” In addi-
tion to the 18-base card set, there
will be an 18-card set of 2.5" x
1.75" mini-cards called Attic Pals.
These cards will be friendly, fun
versions of the Reptiles base set —
think Groot vs. Baby Groot to get
the picture. There will be 36 base
cards in the set.
In addition, a Kickstarter pro-
gram scheduled for August will
provide collectors with the oppor-
tunity to amass some additional
chase cards. There will be a set
of traditional, color-based, num-
bered parallels, plus
exclusive Kickstarter
parallel Full Metal
card versions that
will also be created
as well as redemp-
tions for original
artwork. Base cards
are unnumbered,
but red parallels will
be numbered to 10,
and gold will be 1/1.
As we went to
press, Attic Cards announced
pricing for Reptiles. A base set
of 18 cards will run $15 while a
full set of 18 cards, 18 mini Pals
and three base card parallels (one
numbered) will be $25. Redemp-
tion certificates for the original
art and for uncut sheets will be
randomly placed in full set boxes.
