AMD’s second generation

of Ryzen processors gets

off to an auspicious start

with the mightyRyzen 72700X. It’sfaster

than Intel’s equivalent Core i7-8700K at stock

speeds, despitebeing cheaper,and temperatures staynice and

low even whenoverclocking.

Anear-perfect

motherboardfor

AMD Ryzen-based

microATX systems. It’s remarkably well

equippedforconnectivity and upgradability,and comes closeto

much more expensive mobos in performance benchmarks.

Forget the Intel Core

i9-9900K–this 12-core

monsterof aCPU performsfar

better forsimilar money. There isadrawback, in that it’s

not veryoverclocking-friendly,but that’s partly because it’s sofast to

begin with.Pair it with some good RAM, and you’re already mostof

the wa ytoac apable home workstation.
