As creative as it was cool, Dutch designer Iris van Herpen’s show
opened with a serious bang—a five-piece band playing Zen
singing bowls while submerged in a water tank. But the designs
of the clothes that followed were equally attention-grabbing,
snapping the audience’s minds back to the subject at hand. Sheet
metal was finely cut into rosettes to adorn structural dresses,
while heels were 3D-printed. And to top it off? Van Herpen
celebrated the 10th anniversary of her label with a party the same
night featuring Icelandic sensation Björk as her guest of honour.
