10 WHAT TRADIES WANT.
F
ruity French downhill racer Loïc
Bruni had a bit of a brainstorm
and decided to bolt down a nasty-
bastard downhill in the middle of the
night. The gold medallist at the 2015 UCI
Mountain Bike World Championships
decided not to go crazy, though. He waited
until it was a full moon and had a mate fly
a drone with a couple of LED lights in front
of him. So he could see an’ that.
Starting at 3.00am – probably so he’d
be home in time for a brekky of snails or
some other Gallic delight – over the course
of three nights, the 23-year-old cut sick
on the slopes while another camera drone
filmed from behind. Visibility was about 15
metres, but Monsieur Loïc didn’t let that
bother him.
“It was a leettle beet dan-jher-oos
sometimes,” he gargled in his charming
Frenchie accent. “Eet ees really ’ard
nowadays to innovate when you do
videos.”
The video and images are amazing, no
doubt about that, and Bruni did the scary
downhill bizzo, no worries.
Sack-ray bluey!
