he folks at CIGWELD have put
together a scorcher of a Youtube
video on how to quickly weld up
a first-class fire pit that can be
easily transported or set up with pride in
any backyard.

MATERIALS
25mm x 25mm square, 1.6mm-thick painted,
square hollow tubing
- Four x 300mm long
- Four x 400mm long
- Four x 450mm, 45-degree-mitre-cut lengths
2.1mm mild steel checkerplate - One 150mm x 150mm square
- Four 600mm top x 150mm bottom x 380mm
sides (trapezoidal shape). Drill two holes about
90mm from the bottom of each plate.
DIY
- Tack together the mitre-
cut pieces to assemble
the top frame.
4. Tack the trapezoidal
checkerplate sections
together and fit the
baseplate to form the pit.
2. Tack on the 300mm
sections to form legs. - Check it all fits, then
go back and finish
the welds. Make sure
you stitch in different
locations so you don’t
overheat one area and
burn a hole. - Tack in the 400mm sections
to form supports.
6. A clean up and paint
and you’re ready to go!
