A

s someone
with a keen
interest in
the subject,
I watch a lot
of programmes based
on the paranormal.
I just can’t help it!
So, for those of you
who can’t get your fill of
all things spooky, here
are the shows that I
recommend you look at,
most of which can be
found on satellite
TV, or on the good
old Internet.

Scientific

My all-time
favourite
paranormal series
is Ghost Hunters,
narrated by William
Woollard (this isn’t
the American
show by the
same name).
Ghost
Hunters is a
British show,
and dates from
the late 1990s.
It features
accounts of
paranormal
incidents from
witnesses, and
has a scientific
point of view
from people in
the field, such as
Professor Archie
Roy and
Mary Rose
Barrington.
Mediums
also feature
regularly
in this

series. It covers stuff
from ley lines to poltergeists.
There were four series of
Ghost Hunters,
and the DVDs are
now available to
buy if you can’t
find the episodes
to watch on TV
or online.
I’d rate this
10 out of 10!

Worth it

Another of my
favourites is
Paranormal
Witness.
Today,
it’s on its
fifth series,
but I don’t
know if
it will get
a sixth, so
it’s worth
catching.
It features
all kinds of true
paranormal-
themed stories,
and includes interviews with
those who were involved
in the experiences and
dramatisations.
There’s not much in
the way of scientific

analysis, but it’s still
very interesting.
This is an
American show,
so focuses on
that country,
but there’s an
episode or
two based
elsewhere, such
as Mexico.
I’d give
this production
eight out of 10.

Scary!

Another
American show
that I watch is A Haunting.
It’s been on air since 2005,

and there are nine
series for you to
catch up on, covering
hauntings, exorcisms
and possession...
Some of the accounts
are truly scary!
I would
award this a
seven out of 10.

List

Now you
wouldn’t
think that
a show from
New Zealand
would be in my
list, but you’d be
totally wrong!
Sadly, only one
series was ever
produced of Ghost
Hunt (2005).
Featuring
three paranormal
investigators, each
of the episodes
explored some of
the country’s
most ghost-laden
locations, from theatres and
cemeteries to old mansions
and railway stations.
If you can
catch an episode,
then it’s definitely
worth watching.
Another eight
out of 10.
Well, there you
go, my list of some
great paranormal
shows for you to
enjoy until next
month’s Chat it’s
fate comes out.
Settle down and
turn off the lights...
On
second
thoughts, leave
them on!
