found out it was a bit deep, so she
bogged in a bit there,” he said.
Harley Smith said: “My favourite
part of the track was the sand,
favourite memory was watching
Munsie and Connor fail. Munsie got
bogged in the sand and Connor did a
backflip on the hillclimb.”
Martin Adams said: “We came out
to Kingaroy Trailride and the wives
went out to the winery for the day,
Olivers Motorcycles Moorooka, run
by Michael, gave us a Husky 300cc
two-stroke demo bike and we had a
ride on that which was great fun and
a Kingaroy guy who happens to be an
International Six Days Enduro Junior
Champion, Shawn Reed, came and
rode it and had a great time on the
track as well”.

The Saturday entertainment was a
barrel race with motorbikes. The idea
is that you fang down the straights as
fast as you can and keep the turns
tight to ensure no time is wasted.
Well that’s the idea, how it really rolls
is that the straights are where your
wheelie skills can really shine, then
the tight turns aren’t always so tight
but if you can end with a stellar
cruise past on the back wheel the
crowds going to get behind you.
Head sweep Ben Smith said injuries
were minimal. “Rumor has it there
were two dislocated shoulders. One
dude’s navigation was a bit off, getting
lost and ending up on the novice
track and then dislocating his
shoulder and the other was from a fall
off the mechanical bull.”

DAY TWO
Sunday’s riding kicked off at 9am and
the tracks closed at 1.30pm. The
course remained the same this year,
which helped with the zero visibility
on the singletrack. The dust was thick
and riders had to navigate by memory
from the day before.
Jeff from Brissy on a KTM
350EXC-F made it around and didn’t
fall off, “so that’s good”. This year
was the first time for the boys.
They’d been all geared up for the
Woodenbong ride but it was
postponed for the third time, so they
headed out to Kingaroy and weren’t
disappointed. “Awesome weather,
great camping area one, of the best
I’ve been too,” said Jeff.
Gareth from Ipswich was on a
