About the Authors


Angelina  Ambrosetti is a senior lecturer and head of course in the School of
Education and the Arts at Central Queensland University. Angelina is an experi-
enced primary school teacher and taught in Queensland primary schools for 16 years
prior to her move to initial teacher education, where she works with undergraduate
preservice teachers in pedagogical practices, and designs and coordinates the in-
school professional practice experiences in which they engage. Angelina’s doctoral
research focused on developing an alternative mentoring model for preservice
teachers and their mentors during the professional practice experience. Her ongoing
research interests include mentoring in preservice teacher education, mentoring in
workplace learning, the professional practice experience in initial teacher education
and professional development for teachers.


Rebecca  Andrews is a lecturer at the Department of Educational Studies,
Macquarie University. Rebecca is an early childhood specialist who worked in the
early childhood sector as an early intervention adviser and teacher for several years.
Beginning at Macquarie University in 2001, she now lectures and teaches early
childhood philosophy and pedagogy as part of the student experience in early pro-
fessional experience units. She has researched and developed programs for diploma-
qualified students integrating into their first professional experience unit as part of a
bachelor of education (early childhood) degree, within the university environment.
She is involved in writing professional development courses on mentoring for early
childhood teacher accreditation.


Ros  Capeness has a 40-year career in education across a range of teaching,
research and management roles in schools, universities and government depart-
ments. She joined the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) in 2010 to manage
the Queensland Review of Teacher Education and School Induction and the
Implementation Taskforce tasked with actioning the recommendations from the
review. Her current role at the QCT is manager of Accreditation and Professional
Standards. This involves working with Queensland higher education institutions in
the national accreditation of their initial teacher education programs and the
