e don’t know about you, but
here at ARR HQ we reckon a
parallel twin without a decent
set of cans is like a milkshake
without enough fl avouring. All that rorty Brit
goodness, nobly announcing your arrival way
before you get there. That chocolatey basso
profundo saying all that’s good about a twin
streeter. And people listen. Sometimes nodding
in approval, sometimes tu ing and tsking all
the way from the Toyota to the checkout. But
they be hearin’. Yes indeedy.
We’ve had our Racing Yellow Street Cup in
the ARR bunker for 10 weeks now and have
covered 2500km in that time. It’s loosened
up nicely. The box was a li le tight and over
precise but now it snicks through very neatly
indeed. There’s no hiding from the fact that
brakes aren’t the bike’s strong point; I’d love
to see a dual disc setup there. With the pre y
so front end, the pressure at the lever is more
than I’d like, making it a li le divey. We may
go for a set of heavier fork springs and a touch
heavier oil there.
It’s a li le early to tell but fi t and fi nish are
holding up well. The bike is always garaged
and sees the hose regularly but it’s a joy to look
a er. And trust us, it gets some a ention when

posing around the cafes. Everyone wants to
know about it.
The 900cc engine features a 270-degree fi ring
interval so, as promised last issue, we checked
out the Triumph performance accessories
catalogue and sourced a set of Vance & Hines
brushed stainless-steel slip-on muffl ers. These
will set you back $1121.35 retail.
