MOTOPRESSOR

MINI PUMP

If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve had
to deal with a puncture or two. I must have
fi xed hundreds of them in motocross track
paddocks, or worse, by the side of the road. I’ve
never been very good at it and o en end up
rushing the last bit and pinching the tube, at
which point I feel like shouting profanities at
anyone nearby, but that’s another story.
In the past, I’ve usually carried one of those
rinky-dink handheld pumps. They’ve saved
my ass on a number of occasions but I always
thought there must be a be er way to pump
up a tyre on the fl y. Well, Rocky Creek Designs
reckons it’s got the answer.
It’s called the MotoPressor and I’ve been
testing it over the last couple of weeks.
I’ve seen portable compressors in the past
but they’re generally not that portable. The
MotoPressor isn’t much bigger than a regular
handheld and is small and light enough (503g)
to carry in your backpack or saddlebags.
It works by connecting to your motorcycle
ba ery or a mini jump starter. You select a
pressure scale (PSI, BAR or KPA), select the
pressure you want to pump your tyres to,

switch the pump on and — voilà! I’ve used
it on my motorcycle and car on a number of
occasions with no issues thus far. It can handle
up to 50PSI, so it’s fi t for most applications.
The whole thing packs neatly into a sturdy
carry bag and, in case you’re sceptical, it comes
with a no-nonsense fi ve-year warranty.
