KILLER CLOWN MYSTERY SOLVED!

crime, retested evidence to crack the cold
case after re-interviewing witnesses. ‘The
new technology of DNA is what resulted in
the indictment,’ forensic scientist Dr Lawrence
Kobilinsky, professor at New York’s John Jay
College of Criminal Justice, tells OK!.
The hair found in the car driven by the killer
clown could be matched to Sheila with a test
that didn’t exist in 1990 – although police
refused to confirm the hair was the key piece
of evidence and are holding back on identifying
other evidence they retested. The case was
presented to a grand jury, which returned the
first-degree murder indictment. ‘It doesn’t
matter how long it takes,’ Palm Beach County
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said of his department’s
resolve to solve crimes, ‘we’re going to find you.’
Their work isn’t done yet. Many, including
Sheila’s neighbours and even investigators, have
long believed Michael was somehow involved.
Marlene’s stepdad, Bill Twing, tells OK! the
family has always been suspicious: ‘How can
you not believe that he didn’t at least know?’
As for whether Michael is a suspect now,
Sheriff Bradshaw says, ‘We consider the case
ongoing until every single lead that we have...
is dealt with. So that’s yet to be determined.’
Now, Sheila is awaiting trial. ‘When [Sheila]
goes to court,’ Shirley tells OK!, ‘then it will be
the final step of letting Marlene rest in peace.’
