Brad Pitt’s grandmother
Betty Russell passed away
on September 14, with the
actor, 53, failing to fulfil the
95-year-old’s ‘dying wish’
of him visiting her at her
Oklahoma nursing home.
‘The family begged him
to come home so she could
see him one last time. But he
said he wasn’t coming and
probably wouldn’t be at the
funeral either,’ an insider
reveals, adding that the last
time they saw each other was
shortly before twins Vivienne
and Knox were born in 2008.
Thankfully, Betty had the
rest of her ‘family by her side’
when she passed away.

‘She misses him. He doesn’t
write, he doesn’t seem to stay
in contact with her,’ his aunt
Mary Ann Lanier revealed in
2012, three years before the
US government gave Betty’s
retirement home a shocking
one star out of a possible
five-star rating.
‘I don’t know, I’m sure he’s
busy, but I don’t know why
he doesn’t stay in contact
with at least his grandmother,
but she doesn’t hear from
him,’ Mary Ann added.
Despite their estrangement,
Betty’s family made sure to
include ‘Brad and Angie Pitt’,
as well as their six children,
in Betty’s obituary.

WHERE WAS

BRAD?

Five years after falling in love
under the Northern Lights
in Iceland, Game of Thrones
co-stars Kit Harington and
Rose Leslie, both 30, are
engaged. But in a particularly
un-celeb-like move, the pair
shunned social media to
announce the happy news,
opting for something a little
more traditional instead!

The pair took out an official
notice in British newspaper
The Times, which read: ‘The
engagement is announced
between Kit, younger son
of David and Deborah
Harington of Worcestershire,
and Rose, middle daughter
of Sebastian and Candy
Leslie of Aberdeenshire.’
How refreshing!

Ange only visited Betty
with Brad once in their
10 years together – and
the actress’ only visit
turned out to be Brad’s
last, in 2008. Could
she be behind their
estrangement?
