TAYLORSWIFT

There are some things Taylor Swift
has no intention of shaking off. After
six months away from the spotlight,
the superstar, 27, will be spending
time in a Denver courtroom, where
she’s battling David Mueller, a local
radio talk show host she claims
fondled her during a preconcert
meet and greet four years ago.
Mueller has filed a $3 million suit
against the Grammy winner,
alleging he was wrongfully fired
from his job at station KYGO
because of Swift’s allegations. Swift
is countersuing, saying she was
“surprised, upset, offended and
alarmed” after Mueller “intentionally
reached under her skirt and groped
with his hand an intimate part of her
body.” Swift did not report the
incident to police but is now
outspoken about the episode; she
plans to donate any money she’s
awarded from the trial (which began
Aug. 7) to women’s charities.
Holding Mueller responsible will
serve “as an example to other
women who may resist publicly
reliving similar outrageous and
humiliating acts,” the singer wrote in
her lawsuit.—MELODY CHIU

Swift
and her
mother, Andrea,
are expected to
testify at
the nine-day
trial.
